The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics recently released data that shows Weld County with the largest percentage increase in employment out of Colorado’s nine largest counties from 2009-2010.

More specifically, Weld County experienced a 2.9% employment gain from December 2009 – December 2010.  Out of the 326 largest counties in the United States, Weld County ranked 11th for employment growth.

Neighboring Larimer County, which posted a 1.7% gain from December 2009 – December 2010, came in 52nd in the nation.

Foreclosures are Down!

Everyone will be happy to know that the number of foreclosures in Weld County in the first half of 2011 was 916 compared to 1455 in the first half of 2010 (about a 37% decrease). That's definitely good news!

While Weld County is not yet out of the woods as far as high foreclosure rates, things are certaintly looking up

In 2010, we reported that Greeley had dropped off of RealtyTrac's Top 10 List of areas with the most foreclosures.  Greeley has now dropped out of the top 20!

Our statistics show sales of bank-owned homes in Greeley is down only slightly from this time last year.  This may indicate that these homes are still desirable and as fewer and fewer new foreclosures become available, these homes will be better absorbed in to the market.

Reducing the number of foreclosures actively on the market will help to level out inventory, which often tends to increase values.

In addition, the Greeley Tribune
recently published an article
talking about the dip in foreclosures
in Weld County.
